History

Ulzei Gallery was founded in 2020 through joint collaboration between Amgalan Zhamsoev, a Buryat language calligrapher based in Russia, and Marie Mach, a translator based in the Washington D.C Metro Area. The gallery aims to promote the work of artists from the former Soviet Union, especially those from the Central Asian Republics and the Caucasus who tackle issues related to identity and culture in a contemporary context.
